Meet Erin Anderson, CPA
A CPA who would rather have the conversation in October than explain the result in April.
Erin began her career at Ernst & Young in Indianapolis, reviewing work papers and running internal control testing on audit engagements — which is where you learn what auditors actually look for, and why records either hold up or don’t. From there she moved into corporate accounting at Occidental Petroleum, preparing GAAP financial statements for consolidated business units under Sarbanes-Oxley, and then to Seigfried Group, running monthly closes and documenting internal controls for client organizations.
She founded Legacy CPA Group in February 2017 to bring that discipline to organizations that need it but cannot staff for it — nonprofits stewarding restricted funds, and small businesses whose books have outgrown a spreadsheet.
Why nonprofits
The firm’s core work is accounting oversight and financial reporting for nonprofit organizations: full-cycle bookkeeping, fund tracking, and compliance for entities that need audit-ready records and board-level reporting without the cost of an internal accounting department. Fund accounting rewards exactly the habits that Big Four audit work teaches — documentation, reconciliation, and the assumption that someone will eventually check.
The real estate side
Erin also serves as CFO of Anderson Realty & Design, where she leads financial strategy for a multi-million dollar real estate development portfolio, and is a licensed real estate broker with FC Tucker in Indianapolis. That matters for clients doing community development, housing, or property-based programs: the financial structure of a development project is not something she reads about, it is something she runs.
What makes us different, concretely
Every firm claims to be responsive and proactive. In practice: fees are published and agreed before work starts. Books close on a schedule, not when we get to it. You get a call in the fourth quarter while the year can still change, instead of news in April. And where a professional standard limits what we can do for you — as independence rules limit who we can audit — you will be told plainly rather than sold around it.
Who we are not for
We are not the cheapest option, and we are a poor fit for anyone wanting a return filed once a year with no conversation in between. We also decline work outside our competence. If your situation calls for a specialist in international tax or a large-firm audit team, you will be told so and pointed somewhere better.

Our core pillars
Educate. Advocate. Consult. Grow.
The four commitments behind every engagement.
01 — Educate
You understand the why
Numbers explained in plain language, so the decisions stay yours to make.
02 — Advocate
Someone in your corner
Notices answered and your interests represented to funders, boards, and authorities.
03 — Consult
Ask before, not after
The call before you sign is worth more than any deduction found afterward.
04 — Grow
Built to compound
Clean records and deliberate structure are what let an organization outlast its founder.
Let's see if we fit.
Thirty minutes on a call will tell both of us more than any amount of website copy.
