Year-end document checklist

What to gather before your return or audit. Most of it you already have.

  • Income records
    W-2s, 1099s, K-1s, grant award letters, donation records.
  • Bookkeeping file
    Or year-end statements if you keep your own.
  • Bank statements
    All accounts, December or fiscal year end.
  • Restricted fund detail
    Awards, conditions, and releases during the year.
  • Asset purchases
    Equipment, vehicles, improvements over $2,500.
  • Loan statements
    Showing interest and principal split.
  • Payroll reports
    Year-end summaries and quarterly filings.
  • Board minutes
